Mobile Weather App

Mobile weather App, excellent and free and I might add fairly accurate. When it gives an 80% chance of rain it usually does rain. Amazing. As you can see the daytime temperature reaches about 34 during the day and they say it feels like 42, I would not argue with that! At night it falls to around 27. The heat of the day starts to drop off at about 17:00 hrs.and it is very pleasant to walk in the garden then. By 22:00 it's time for bed and the bedroom is cool enought to be able to sleep just with a sheet as covering, the ceiling fan can make you feel cold sometimes.

Night Time Cooling System

We use this fan at night, it blows the cooler night air into the Master Bedroom. When we first arrived here at the house we used the Air Con in the bedroom from 19:00 to about 07:00 and it would keep the temperature at about 27 deg C. To reduce costs and energy consumtion we have learnt that allowing the night air to flow through the house we have no need to use the two Air Conditioners we have. They are still operational but up to now - May 2020 - have not been used since the alterations.

Fan in Living Room

What we do use are the ceiling fans. A moving current of air does a lot to cool the body but of course does not cool the room and of course uses a lot less energy. Without the fans it would feel a lot hotter inside.

Facing South East and there is usually a pleasant breeze.

Screen in Living Room

We have now built and installed insect screens to all the windows in the house. We now leave all the windows open 24/7 and it has helped the temperature inside. We have also installed a door screen in the kitchen.

When you walk out from under the warm water at night it feels cold, nice!!

This room was always prone to being excessively hot but not now.
