BATH - Design & Build
Since it appears impossible to find a corner bath in Bohol it meant we had to make one. I am sorry now that I did not take more photos of the construction stage. Live and Learn.
Corner bath
We used 18mm marine ply for the top and bath base. 6mm marine ply for the bath sides and the local hard wood for floor strength. The shape has been cut out of the top ply and that cut-out was reduced in size and used for the base.
Bath Sides
We are now fitting the 6mm ply sides. Having to bend them into place was tricky.
Bath - Fibre Glassing underneath
The underside has the base strengthening attached and then all the surfaces were reinforced with GRP for strength and to gaurantee it was water tight.
Bath in situ
The initial cutting out was done in the kitchen, then used as a workshop, but the main construction had to be done in the bathroom as it was too large to negotiate the doorways.
Bath
You can see the Tap hole - the tap was bought in France several years ago, now it has come in handy!
Resin in Base
The resin with white couloring has been poured for the base.
Another
Nearly There
Bath in place and some filling done.
Side Panels to fit
The side panels made from the same floor tiles.
Bath completed
Now completed and ready to use.
Bath completed
If you fill the bath to the overflow it would take about 350 litres. Our well in May/June - dry time - is giving about 200 litres a day! In the rainy season it's a different story.
